Abstract

The article examines the role of the Supreme Court of Canada in the "reinvigoration" of the civil law tradition in Canada. The (relative) autonomy of the civil law is examined in the jurisprudence of the Court, in the fields of civil procedure and substantive civil law. Finally, the methodology of the Court in relying on transnational sources of civil law is examined.
