Abstract

In this Address the Hon. Mr. Justice Sloan reflects on the many traditions and customs of the legal profession, including the significance of the clothing worn by lawyers in court, and the origins of the designation of “King’s Counsel”. He also discusses the life of the Breton-born St. Yves, and identifies the characteristics which led to his adoption as the patron saint of lawyers.
