THE ALTERNATIVE VOTE METHOD EXPLAINED

Abstract

The alternative vote method should be adopted for use in future elections where more than two candidates are running. This method has been devised to overcome the menace of the “split vote” in single member constituencies where more than two candidates are running. This new method ensures that election can only be secured by support of a majority of voters.
