Abstract

The rules of the League Treaty with respect to the resort to war cannot be applied to a case of reprisals without a careful decision of a court of lawyers. It is important to study the elementary principals of law and the practice of reprisals. By setting the stage for the early law on reprisals this paper seeks to describe this process of the League of Nations and the change in this law over time.
