Abstract

Following the February 2017 passage of a European Parliament resolution on Civil Law Rules on Robotics and further to a request made to the European Committee on Legal Affairs to define legal and ethical standards in respect of robots, a similar exercise must be undertaken in Quebec. It is with this perspective in mind that the author provides some insights into the robot’s legal status before discussing its personal liability in Quebec private law.
