PATTERNS FOR JURY INSTRUCTIONS

Abstract

At the request of the editor, the author describes an enterprise undertaken in California to create what has been referred to as a regime to standardize jury instructions. It has been maintained in the civil practice for twelve years and in criminal practice for five. The purpose of the article is to elucidate the project for the benefit of the Canadian bench and bar.
