Abstract

This brief summary examines the roles of the Supreme Court of Canada and counsel before it, focusing on the Court’s desire for conciseness. The author reviews recent procedural changes and those encompassed by amendments to the Supreme Court Act that go toward achieving this end. He predicts that the Court’s focus will remain on constitutional issues and that it will continue to decide them satisfactorily.
