THE ROOTS OF CRIMINALITY
Abstract
In this article the author examines several factors that he argues show a degree of relationship with criminality. He examines the relationship between poverty and crime, as well as the significance of occupational status, and educational achievement. The author then discusses the relationship between intelligence and criminality, as well as the relationship between crime and age. Next, the author examines the relationship of criminality to physical size and personal appearance, as well as to race, nationality, illegitimacy, and marital status. Lastly, he looks at the relationship between criminality and sex, as well as its relationship with different environmental conditions. In concluding his article the author then briefly examines a hypothesis of frustration and aggression as the root of criminality, but is mindful to point out that in dealing with human behaviour no definite rules can be drawn. Keywords:
