Abstract

Through a comparative analysis of legislation in Quebec and Ontario dealing with personal property security and consumer protection, including an examination of previously unpublished source material revealing underlying policies, the author illustrates the strengths and weaknesses of both systems, in the hope that this will spur a reassessment of the legislation and ultimately ensure changes to both.
