Abstract

The author attempts to assess the part played by Horace Harvey in the development of the law and administration of justice in Alberta. They begin with an overview of his early career, moving to the creation of two distinct divisions in the court and Harvey’s appointment to the Trial Division. They then discuss his contributions to criminal law, constitutional law, domestic relations, real property and torts.
