ORGANIZED CONTINUING TRAINING FOR LAWYERS

Abstract

The Committee on Continuing Legal Education of the American Law Institute is a national organization in the United States, responsible for making post-admission training available to lawyers in or near their home communities, at minimum cost and without undue interruption of their daily or professional activity. The author surveys the origins, objectives and functions of this Committee, reviewing its promotional, organizational and operational work in particular, and introducing the literature it has produced. The Committee’s financing mechanisms are also canvassed, and future goals revealed.
