OF JUDICATURE : A DIALOGUE
Abstract
This article is written in the form of a dialogue whereby the author discusses how the merit of a judge should be measured. He examines the criticisms directed against judges and discusses how such criticisms arise. He also examines Canada’s methods of appointing judges, and issues surrounding the retirement age of judges. He then discusses the eight reasons lying behind current criticisms directed against judges and in concluding his article, argues that such criticisms can only be addressed through having faith in the ideals of justice and judicature. Keywords:
