Authors

  • MARVIN J HUBERMAN

Abstract

This paper examines integrity testing for lawyers. It begins by exploring the concept of integrity and the particular need for integrity in the legal profession. It then examines the potential use of testing as a means of ensuring integrity amongst lawyers. The author explores some of the problems with existing forms of integrity tests as used in other contexts. Finally, some of the potential implications of testing, including the issues of fairness, constitutionality, alternatives, timing and consequences of integrity testing for lawyers are raised and briefly, explored. The relevant Canadian and United States legal literature is also reviewed.
