CONDOMINIUM IN CANADA

Authors

  • ALAN M SINCLAIR

Abstract

In this article the author examines legal issues related to housing in Canada, including statutory and common law regimes. The author thoroughly examines possible solutions to existing problems, looking particularly at a form of co-ownership known as stock co-operative, various statutory devices such as the condominium statute, and the option of the common law condominium. The author concludes by proposing that a statutory base is not only desirable, but also essential to resolving problems in relation to Canada’s housing situation.
