Abstract

In light of the recent presidential address, which urged the body of the Canadian Bar Association to stop and consider its future in order to implement a specific action plan aimed at solving emerging and potential problems, this article proposes to initiate that consideration. It lays out some practical considerations including the aims and objectives of the Association, membership trends during the past decade and the Association’s actual and anticipated financial resources. It concludes with the author’s recommendations as a basis for further study and discussion.
