Abstract

An address given by the President of the Canadian Bar Association at the Annual General Meeting, this reproduction canvasses the origins and evolution of the Association itself. It then moves into the prospects for the immediate future, addressing two problems in particular: 1) how to reorganize the Association’s internal structure to make effective use of its rapidly increasing numbers and 2) how to ensure that it continues to be a truly national organization. The remainder focuses on various proposals for how to enhance legal research and education in Canada.
