Abstract

This is a review of P. E. Corbett’s Law and Society in the Relations of States. After a general summary of the work and its author’s objectives, this article considers its place in relation to the traditional assumption of the existence of society between states, and among other works on the subject of international law. The author confronts several potential criticisms and illustrates why the work under review is more significant than others before.
